'Digital Forest', 2004-7

Anthony Gross

A forest image made from 1000s of 3D-modelled leaves creating a large scale vista that becomes immersive in the tradition of the diorama.
The colours form a rainbow wash across the images alluding to rainforests, jungles, tropical plants and all the seasons simultaneously.
Two main panoramas were created showing the forest in a perspective that would result from looking up into the tree tops.
A series of smaller panels were also created that concentrate on particular colours or details.
